Hey sugar, it’s nice to meet you! I’m Bella, founder and (attempting) writer here of Hygge & Dove, a brand and community rooted in romanticizing rest and comfort in day-to-day life.

You maybe wondering, why create a brand for this?

I believe we live in a day and age where we are constantly told to do more. Whether it be working more, exercising more, doing more, between societal expectations and social media pressures weighing into our lives at a near constant rate, I believe rest has lost its meaning. I am no stranger to this, as I have found myself consistently working to keep up with the spin of our world, regardless of the rest that I may have missed out on. I decided it was time to shift things around and prioritize rest in 2025 and beyond. Not just simple rest, but rest that is restorative and fundamentally comfortable. Being an English major, of course I went searching for words that encompassed this.

Hygge, hyg·ge, pronounced (hew-gah), means: a quality of coziness and a feeling of contentment or well-being. To me, where there is comfort and contentment, there is foundational and restorative rest. A (nearly) lost art form of self-care, given back to you, reader. “Dove” as part of H&D came about as a symbol of rest and lightness, bringing us to the namesake of this place, Hygge & Dove.

H&D was born when I realized I couldn't be alone in the constant hustle and bustle of life, struggling to find and create a balance of rest and work. Here, you will find a community-focused brand centered on prioritizing your rest in ways that are both realistic and cohesive to the world we live in while also offering truly restorative comfort in cozy designs, restful activities, bookish content, and more. I’m so happy you’re here, it’s time to romanticize your rest.
